We will provide the children of East Cleveland with the academic and life skills needed for each and everyone to be a success in the 21st century.

Current Offering

The East Cleveland City School District offers G.E.D. preparation for the adult population. Our program will provide educational opportunities for adults who are in need of enhancing their academic skills for effective citizenship, further education or productive employment. The East Cleveland G.E.D. program will provide academic support with Mathematics, Reasoning Through Language Arts, Science, and Social Studies in preparing our adults.

 
Where to Find Us

The East Cleveland G.E.D. evening program is offered at Shaw High School on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in Room 164. Shaw High School is located at 15320 Euclid Avenue in East Cleveland, Ohio 44112.

 
Financial Aid Information

The Ohio Department of Education will provide up to an $80 voucher towards your testing fee for those who register and are first time FY17 (July 1, 2016 through June 30, 2017) Computer Based GED Test takers. To be eligible to receive the voucher, participants must contact the East Cleveland City School District for career and educational guidance prior to scheduling and paying for the FY16 Computer Based GED Test. The purpose of this career and educational guidance is to provide information about additional career and educational programming to help participants to transition into postsecondary education, training, and employment.

The following chart provides the voucher amounts, which you can use for the entire FY17 Computer Based GED Test or each subject area.

You can only use an Ohio Department of Education voucher for your first attempt in each subject area. If you must retake a subject area, you will only be allowed to retake each subject area twice at a cost of $10 per subject area.
