GO PANTHER CHEERLEADERS!!! 2013 CHAMPIONS!

The Prospect Cheerleaders, under the leadership of Ms. Shanti Coaston, Shaw HS teacher, Gwen Miller, Parent Liaison and Erline Proctor, cafeteria worker ; 40+ girls met 3 times a week to address the importance of education, respect, leadership & accountability. The programs included study tables, guest speakers & open gym sessions. During the open gym sessions the girls practiced cheers and dance routines in preparation for the Annual Inner-City Cheerleading competition.On April 26, 2013, the Prospect Cheerleaders competed at the Warrensville HS in front of a packed house. The competition was intense, but the young ladies emerged victorious for the 4th straight year, as the 1st place Inner-City Cheerleading Champions!!

AUTHOR'S CHAIR AT HERITAGE
In Mr. Evers’ seventh grade Language Arts classes the words you will hear often are teamwork and family. Students took the opportunity during Writing Wednesday to write positive statements about their family and then used the positive statements to write a story.

LAUGH WITH MATH FEATURED AT PROSPECT ELEMENTARY SCHOOL!!!
Laugh with Mathis a building initiative designed to generate student accountability. Each month each class maintains its own STAR Assessment data chart, which is posted in the hall. Throughout the year, each class will use no more than (5) of the charts below, to organize & display their data.

HERITAGE MIDDLE SCHOOL INVESTIGATES SCIENCE DENSITY!!

Students in Mr. William’s Science classes used laboratory tools (a graduated cylinder and balance) to calculate the density of common objects. Using the tools provided, students devised a method that allowed them to collect data on the mass and volume of certain objects which later was used to calculate the object’s density. This method allowed students to engage themselves actively in the interdisciplinary connection between math and scientific inquiry.
