Dear  Students, Parents and Guardians,

 

The fourth marking period has begun and it is crucial that all students stay engaged, energized and focused on their academic performance.  We want you to know that academic supports are on-going and available for all students who attend Shaw High School.  After-school and Saturday school tutorials will be held as follows until Saturday, April 18th:

 

After-school Tutoring   Monday, Tuesday and Thursday

  3:30 – 5:30 p.m.

Saturday School Tutoring  

  Saturday              9:00 – 12:00 noon

  

In an effort to support our students, Shaw High School teachers and administrators will be identifying all students that are in danger of failing their academic courses.  These students will be assigned to attend After-school and Saturday school tutorials for academic assistance.

 

As the weather becomes nicer and temperatures rise students have a habit of straying away from the dress code and electronic device protocols and procedures.  We want all parents to know that dress code and electronic device protocols and procedures are in effect until the last day of school.  We ask for your cooperation and support in ensuring that your child comes to school in dress code every day.   In addition, we ask that you remind your child that electronic devices such as cell phones, iPods and headphones are not to be used during the school day. 

 

The staff of Shaw High School is confident that with your support and cooperation of the aforementioned issues will ensure a smooth closing to the school year.

 

Finally, the Senior Class of 2013 have many important activities, events and timelines that must be adhered to in order for them to have a smooth transition from Shaw High School.

May 22nd -23rd   Senior Clearance

May 25th   Senior Prom – The Inter-Continental Hotel

May 31st   Shaw High School Commencement
