Dear Parents/Guardians/Students of Shaw High School,
The first quarter has come to an end and we want to say congratulations to those students that achieved academic success! I want to encourage those students that may have struggled this quarter to please continue to work hard and remain focused on your academic goals. Thank you to all the parents that attended Parent Teacher Conferences. If you were unable to attend conferences please make sure to communicate with your child’s teachers to ensure a strong home & school partnership. Communication with your child’s teachers creates a positive and collaborative relationship which will ensure academic success. We have concluded our fall sports and I want to thank all of the players and coaches for a job well done! As we prepare for Winter sports, please remember our focus is on “student-athletes”. Parents please remind your child that their academic success comes first!
On November 1, 2019, radio station Z107.9 surprised the senior class with a pop up party for having good attendance. Attendance is the key to academic achievement! Missing school due to absences or tardies can have a negative impact on your scholar’s learning and graduation status. Please encourage your child to come to school every day and on time. On behalf of the Faculty & Staff of Shaw High School we wish all of you a happy holiday season!
Ms. Lori Crum-Whittenburg, Ed.S.
