District Names New Human Resources Director and New Curriculum Director

The East Cleveland City School District is happy to announce Paula Elder as the new Human Resources Director.  Ms. Elder’s appointment was recorded and acknowledged by the East Cleveland City Schools Board of Education in a special meeting on Monday, May 22, 2023.

 

Mrs. Elder brings twenty-five years of educational experience to this position, having most recently served as director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment within the District.  Mrs. Elder began her career in education as an elementary teacher, then moving to Reading First data coordinator, curriculum specialist, principal at Superior Elementary School and central office administrator.  

 

Mrs. Elder holds a Master’s degree in Educational Administration and a superintendent license.  She is also an Educational Policy Fellow from Cleveland State University.  “To quote Nelson Mandella, ‘education is the most powerful weapon which we can use to change the world,’” said Elder.

 

Also at last evening’s board meeting, Mr. Tom Domzalski was approved as the new director of curriculum.  Mr. Domzalski will integrate his work with communications, data, and technology into this role.

 

Mr. Domzalski is in his eighth year with the District.  He was a small school principal at Shaw High School before moving to central office as Director of Data/EMIS.  

 

Mr. Domzalski is a fourth year doctoral student at Cleveland State University in the Urban Education program.  He holds a Master of Arts in Education Technology from Baldwin-Wallace College and a superintendent’s license.  He is also an SDP Fellow with Harvard University’s Strategic Data Partnership.
