Board of Education Approves Scenario 5: A New Chapter for East Cleveland Schools

On March 26, 2025, the East Cleveland City School District Board of Education voted unanimously (5–0) to adopt Scenario 5 of the Facility Master Plan. This decision follows months of data analysis, public engagement, and community conversations about the future of our district.

Scenario 5 includes:

• PK–K at Prospect Early Childhood Academy

• Grades 1–4 at Caledonia Elementary

• Grades 5–8 at Kirk Middle School, including the relocated Superior School for the Performing Arts

• Grades 9–12 at Shaw High School

• Closure of Mayfair Elementary

• Relocation of the Board Office to the Chambers Community Center

• Phased implementation from 2025–2028
